Most of you by now have finished making your original advertisements. Now comes the really important bit... explaining how it works!
Evaluations are a wonderful opportunity to explain what you were trying to achieve in a piece of work as well as anything that you would perhaps have done differently if you had more time.
To make life easier for you, I have included a list of all the things you need to include in your evaluation to get a good mark. Good old Mr. Brown, eh? Each number on this list should represent a new paragraph.
Title: Evaluation
1. Introdution: Text-Type, Audience and Purpose.
2. What pre-production tasks did you do and how did they help you in knowing how to design your advert? (For this paragraph, just go through a few of the tasks I got you to do at the start of this half-term and say how they helped you achieve your final advertisement. Make sure you mention one or two other adverts which you looked at and what you learned from looking at them)
3. What magazine do you think your advertisement should be placed in and why?
4. Which of Maslow's basic needs have you appealed to? (for this bit you can just paste in your Activity 2 from the previous blog entry)
5-7. What technical things did you do? (Say what software you used on the computers and what you used that software to do. Mention any photo editing, font-styles and any other technical work you did.)
8. Do you think your advertisement is a success? (Be sensible... none of these adverts are perfect and none of them are terrible! Mention a couple of things that you think you have done well and a couple of things that you would like to do better to reach your audience).
